Layfon Wolfstein Alseif

 Layfon Wolfstein Alseif

The main protagonist of the series. He was one of the twelve wielders of the Heaven Blades, which are only given to the twelve most capable in the Lance Shelled Grendan, and held the title of Wolfenstein. He came to Zuellni with no interest in joining the Military Arts, and came for ordinary studies with just a Scholarship Rank D. However he was forced to join the Military Arts when Karian Loss, head of the student council, saw his combat potential. He has extremely high combat capabilities, as can be inferred from his past as a Heaven Blade. Due to his birthplace Grendan being heavily involved in fighting Filth Monsters, fighters there developed with a ‘win or die’ philosophy. However he deliberately holds back during battles because he wants to hide his past. Furthermore, he has a large amount of internal type Kei as mentioned by Felli. He also works in machine cleaning with Nina Antalk. His goal is to find a dream outside of fighting. In episode 1, flashbacks of his past show his previous weapon, which is no longer in his possession. His current standard weapon is that of a blue sword but during the attack on Zuellni by filth monsters he asked Harley to modify it with a second mode which produces an unknown number of golden wires that could be razor sharp or as soft as a rope. On episode 7 he received a new, heavier black blade from Harley that could handle his kei to a much better extent and creates a blast of air with every strike, which humorously causes Felli’s hair to become messy. However like his previous blade, parts of the blade will break off if Layfon isn’t careful. This blade retains the two settings from his previous blade. He standardly uses his smaller 01 blade, so far only using the larger AD mode when fighting high level filth monsters. His dite also has the golden wire mode called 02. In episode 12 he uses the smaller 01 mode not wanting to hurt his opponent and it is soon destroyed by Haia Salinvan Saiha, who revealed that Layfon’s master originally studied alongside the master who taught him katana movements. Following the destruction of his blue blade, Layfon received a gray katana in episode 13 but chose to use his usual blue blade when it was repaired and almost fought against Haia again with full power. It is shown through out the series that Layfon’s element is wind and could easily use the wind without his blade. It was revealed latter on that Layfon was in fact forced to resign from being one of the 12 Heavenly blade wielders after it is revealed that he would fight in underground fighting arenas to earn money. It is most likely due to this that he decided to give up fighting in form of a more peaceful life style.
